Chef Tony's loyal following keeps the restaurant busy for business lunches and intimate dinners alike. The Corvina en Salsa de Limon and Carpaccio de Res are recommended.
The heavenly Pecora Nera in Playa Cocles outside of Puerto Viejo is not only the best restaurant in the Caribbean zone, it's probably the best restaurant in the entire country. This open-air restaurant in a jungle setting, is low on pretense, but produces some of the most rapturous Italian cuisine in Central America. Although the menu is laden with tempting choices, your best bet is simply to let Chef/Owner Ilario Giannoni create a special menu of his own favorites. (Just dont miss the pumpkin ravioli -- an epiphany.)
